Xperiablog.net – a tech site with a good track record of providing reliable leaks has outed a few images of what is believed to be the Xperia 2. The leak isn’t really a surprise, given that the so-called Xperia 2 has been frequenting the rumor mill.
The leaked images show that the device will largely retain the Xperia 1 design, albeit a slight rear camera placement. Still, the Xperia 2 will retain the triple rear camera on the Xperia1 but vertically placed on the top left-hand corner.
On the side, not much has changed. The leak reveals the device will retain the volume, power and camera buttons all on the right side alongside the fingerprint reader.
If the previous leak is anything to rely on, it means the Xperia 2 will feature an unknown screen size, with a 3,840 x 1,644px resolution – same on the Xperia1, though there are some reports that suggest the device could come with a whopping 5K screen with 5040 x 2160px resolution.
For now, these are the only images available of the Xperia 2, though it is plausible this could be a different device, perhaps not the real follow up to the Xperia 1. Sony has a launch event scheduled for September 5th in Berlin, so we’d expect more details to come up in the coming days.
