Reports and even a recent patent approval have already hinted that Xiaomi might be ditching the Mi Mix 4 for the Greek naming convention, citing some trademark infraction as a possible reason. The Chinese firm has scheduled a launch event for September 24th in China where it will unveil the Mi 9 Pro, and the xXaiomi Mi Mix Alpha – the next in the Mi Mix series.
Now, the firm via some official teaser poster released on the firm’s Weibo page has all but confirmed this. The poster clearly suggests the next flagship Mix phone will be named Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha, and an attached teaser image gives us a look at the screen. A few of the images suggest the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha will come equipped with a screen that high degree curves that drop off the sides.
This is akin to the waterfall display and the Horizontal display in the Nex 3 and the Huawei Mate 30 Pro. In fact, one of the teaser images suggests the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha will get the highest STBR in any Xiaomi phone, though we are not sure if the Mix Alpha could offer something beyond the Nex 3 chart-topping 99.6% screen-to-body ratio. If it does, then we could be in for a Mi Mix Alpha with 100% screen-to-body ratio.
We are still a couple of days away from the official debit, so we look up to more teasers in the coming days.
