The Redmi K30 is launching pretty soon. Xiaomi co-founder and VP Bin Lin at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit a few days ago confirmed that Redmi K30 will be the first 5G Xiaomi device that will be powered by Snapdragon 765G 5G Mobile Platform. There were speculations too that the brand might also release a non 5G variant, perhaps, for markets without the next-generation network, and now we have official words from Xiaomi top executive.
Xiaomi’s sub-brand GM earlier this morning took to his Weibo page to confirm that the Redmi K30 5G will come in a 4G flavor, obviously for markets that have yet to commercialize the 5G network. In his words “If you think the package is too expensive, don’t worry. #RedmiK30 also has a 4G network version to choose from.” As expected, the Redmi K30 4G will come at a cheaper price, though that has yet to be fixed.
In a related development, specs details of the so-called Redmi K30 4G have also surfaced on China’s TENAA certification database. The listing reveals a 4,400mAh battery and a 2.2 GHz processor which likely could be the SD 730G. It will come with a large 6.67-inch Full HD+ screen and come with 6 GB, 8 GB, or 12 GB and up to 256 GB of storage options.
The listing isn’t quite explicit in the camera section, but there are indications it could come with a 64MP primary sensor (IMX686) and a 20MP front camera. More details about the upcoming device.
