Redmi 8A full specs surface on TENAA, gets larger display and more battery

Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi launched the Redmi Note 8 just recently, however, evidence has surfaced that the brand is working on one more Redmi model, but this time a lower cadre device. A redmi smartphone alleged to be the Redmi 8A bearling the model number M1908C3K first surfaced on TENAA earlier this week with its images and only partial specs.

Now the regulatory body has updated the device’s listing with the full specs, suggesting it has completed the full certification process.

The Redmi 8A which will sit below the Redmi 8 itself as per the listing comes in at 156.3 x 75.4 x 9.4 millimeters and 188g. The device when launched will be painted in black, red, blue, pink, white, green, purple, and gray color options. It gets a single rear camera – a 12MP sensor.

Notably, the device flaunts a larger 6.217-inches display with 720 x 1520 resolution, up from the 5.45-inches  display on the Redmi 7A. Under the hood, the Redmi 8A as listed gets a 2.0GHz octa-core processor with 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB RAM variants, and 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of storage respectively. All storage variants support expansion up to 512GB using microSD card slot.

To match up with the larger 6.217-inches display, the Redmi 8A gets a larger 5000mAh battery, while it will boot  Android 9 Pie out of the box.

We are not sure when the device will debut, however, we do will get to know more about the Redmi 8A including its pricing and availability in the coming weeks.
