Realme 5 will be the company’s 64MP quad-cam flagship

Oppo sub-brand Realme has a media event tipped for August 8 where it will showcase its 64MP Camera technology. We do know that the brand isn’t won’t be releasing details of the actual phone bearing the camera sensor at the event.

The brand has since confirmed that its first device with the 64MP camera will launch with a quad-camera phone – the 64MP sensor alongside three other sensors. Now, just ahead of the company’s August 8th event,  the brand India CEO Madhav Sheth has indirectly confirmed the name of the upcoming device.

There have been reports suggesting that the device will be named the Realme 5 – essentially skipping the Realme 4 which is considered not a good number in China. That has now been confirmed by the brand India head. Well, the CEO hasn’t made any post relating to the Realme 5 but has only changed his Twitter handle to Madhav ‘5’ Quad, confirming that the upcoming smartphone will be called Realme 5 and will come fitted with a quad-camera setup.

This is more or less a confirmation of the Realme 5 moniker, given that the CEO had earlier teased the Realme X in a similar manner. Details of the Realme 5 is at the moment sparse, but we should be hearing more news about the device soon,  so stay tuned.

Redmi 64MP Camera phone

Similarly, Xiaomi backed Redmi is also gearing up for the launch of its 64-megapixel camera phone in China scheduled for August 7 – the same day Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Note 10.
