Nubia CEO Ni Fei earlier this month teased the imminent arrival of a Nubia Red Magic 5G Gaming Phone. While we know little or nothing about the unnamed smartphone, the teaser revealed that the aid phone will support a 144Hz refresh rate, up from the 90Hz and 120Hz supported by the Red Magic 3, Oneplus 7 and ROG phone 2.
Now, while the brand has yet to reveal a specific launch date, the same device bearing the model number NX659J has now received the Chinese 3C approval. Still, the approval listing reveals little or nothing about the smartphone, however, it does reveal that the device is 5G enabled, and might be shipping with support for up to 55W fast charging.
The 144Hz refresh rate, and perhaps a design different from that of the Nubia Red Magic 3 series could be the highlights of the unknown Nubia Red Magic 5G Gaming Phone. Of course, and given that it would go against other flagship gaming smartphone, the device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform, and that means it will get dual-mode 5G support. Speaking of the battery size, the upcoming Nubia Red Magic 5G Gaming Phone could come with a 5000mAh battery – the same on the Red Magic 3s, but this time around, it will take a shorter time for a complete charge cycle.
