Chinese smartphone maker OPPO just teased a mysterious and unannounced smartphone that could become part of its portfolio in the coming days. The brand which is known for its innovative smartphone design released images of the unknown Oppo phone via its VP Brian Shen.
Notably, the Oppo phone with the Waterfall Screen has a tall aspect ratio, high screen to body ratio, and a dual-curved screen. The display which is dubbed the ‘Waterfall Screen’ curves at about 88-degree -the first of its kind in a smartphone.
With a near 100% STBR, the device when view frontally doesn’t appear to feature any side bezels, as the curves are smartly implemented. The unknown Oppo device also has paper-thin bezel above and below the display. And what is more, the OPPO waterfall screen is devoid of any clumsy notch or cut-outs and it is suspected that it may use an under-the-screen camera, or perhaps a pop-up camera. That, however, isn’t immediately noticeable from the images.
OPPO under-display camera tech
OPPO earlier in June did tease an Oppo phone with the front camera completely hidden under the display. The firm’s later unveiled its under-display camera tech at the MWC Shangai, so perhaps we could be seeing a market-ready oppo phone with the tech soon. The firm claims the tech uses a “customized camera module that captures more light while leveraging optimized algorithms and AI learning to improve camera performance.”
Could this be the OPPO Find Y or Find Z?
