LG mobile in a press release recently confirmed it will be launching the LG Velvet as it aims to discontinue its G series lineup pretty soon. While we await the official debut of the device, LG has now released, a video teaser that reveals the complete design and specs of the upcoming device.
Aired in Korea, the video teaser confirms a revamped design much like what we saw earlier in leaked renders. As you would notice from the images attached here and the video, the LG Velvet drops the massive camera design that we are used to for an all-new and fresh design with a somewhat inverted teardrop design. There are a total of three cameras with a LED flash fitted in descending order on the rear panel, while the front panel has thin bezels and small teardrop notch for the selfie camera sensor.
We do not know much else about the design, but it does look it will retain the 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type C, and dual stereo speakers. There appears to be a power button on the right, volume up and down buttons on the left, and a dedicated Assistant button on the left below the volume buttons. We re not quite sure if the LG Velvet will get an in-display scanner or will have one embedded in its power button. The video teaser reveals the LG Velvelte will come in White, black, red and green color options.
Lastly, the video confirms the LG Velvet will be powered by the Snapdragon 765 SoC – Qualcomm’s upper mid-range processor which suggests the Velvet will be cheaper than flagship-grade smartphones with the premium SD 865.
LG has yet to reveal when it will officially launch the LG Velvet, however, reports have it that the device will be officially launched come May 15, 2020. The Exact price tag, as well as rollout details, are also not yet in the open.
LG Velvet rumored Specs
While we already know the Velvet will draw power from the SD 756, reports have it too, that the rear camera will come flaunting a 6.7/6.9-inch display, a 48MP main sensor, while it will be lighted by a 4,000mAh battery, and support LG’s Dual Screen attachment. We expect LG to reveal the rest of the specs, as well as the official launch date in the coming weeks.
