Huawei P40, P40 Pro With 22.5W and 40W Chargers Collect 3C Approval Ahead of Launch

Huawei’s upcoming smartphones- the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro have now been spotted on China’s 3C (Compulsory Certification of China) website. Both devices have been in the rumor mill for quite some time now, and as we inch toward the official launch date, China’s 3C has listed both devices, revealing only a bit of information about both devices.

Do note that the 3C isn’t known for revealing a lot of information, so the latest listing isn’t in any way different. However, it does reveal that the charging capabilities of both upcoming devices. Specifically, the listing tells us that the Huawei P40 with model numbers ANA-AN00 and ANA-TN00 will sport 22.5W charging speeds while the Huawei P40 Pro with model numbers ELS-AN00 and ELS-TN00 bear the same charging speed as the Huawei P30 Pro – 40W fast charging.

And while there are speculations that the embattled Chinese firm will launch an all-new P40 Premium with an even faster-charging speed, the 3C listing doesn’t reveal anything related to the said premium device.

While Huawei already kick-started the P40 series with the Huawei P40 Lite, the top end Huawei P40, and P40 Pro aren’t expected to debut until March 26 when the company is hosting a launch in Paris, France. However, we’ve heard plenty of rumors about the upcoming smartphones, both confirmed, and unconfirmed reports.

And similar to last year’s P-series smartphone, the rear cameras, of course, will be the P40’s major highlight. The standard P40, for instance, is tipped to come with a 52MP main shooter, 40MP cine camera and an 8MP telephoto module capable of 3x optical zoom, while the Pro variant could swap the telephoto lens for a beefier lens with  5x optical zoom.

The premium Huawei P40, though not yet confirmed is tipped to get a five-camera array consisting of a 64MP main lens, a 12MP telephoto allegedly capable of up to 10x optical zoom, an ultrawide lens, a depth sensor, and finally a macro camera for up-close shots.

All models of the Huawei P40 are expected to come with support for Wi-Fi 6+ connectivity, with Android 10 OS, and of course, due to the fall out between Huawei and the commerce department, the devices will come without essential Google services.
