The tool we’ll be using to achieve this feat is Facebook’s Manage Activity tool. With Facebook’s Manage Activity tool you will not only be able to archive posts you no longer want others to see but you can also use it to temporarily delete contents from your account. The deleted content will be temporarily stored in a deletion bin for 30 days before it is permanently deleted from the platform. When you use Facebook’s archive tool, the archived posts go to a special archive section, found in your activity log. How to Archive Facebook Posts (Computer Approach)
To learn how to archive Facebook posts without having to delete them using Facebook’s Manage Activity tool on PC, follow the set of instructions outlined below:
- Open your browser.
- Log into your Facebook account.
- Click on your profile photo found at the upper-right corner of your screen.
- Click on See your profile.
- To the right of Posts, you’ll find Filters and Manage Posts. Click on Manage Posts.
- A window should pop up. On that window, click on Filters found at the top right corner. The filter can be adjusted based on year, poster, privacy settings, and tagged posts.
- Now you can start clicking on the post you’d like to archive by ticking the check box next to the posts. If you’d like to archive all the posts click on the “Select All” option.
- Click on Next when you are done.
- At this point, you can either Hide Posts, Remove Tags, or Delete Posts. Click on Hide Posts.
- Finally, click on Done.

How to Archive Facebook Posts (Mobile App Approach)
To learn how to archive Facebook posts without having to delete them using Facebook’s Manage Activity tool on PC, follow the set of instructions outlined below:
- Open the Facebook app on your device.
- Tap on the Hamburger icon (the three horizontal bars) found at the top right corner of your screen.
- Tap on See your profile.
- Tap on the ellipses button (the three horizontal dots) located beside the Add to Story button to open your Profile Settings.
- On your Profile Settings page, tap on Manage Posts.
- Tap on Filters found at the top left corner of your screen to rearrange the post so you can easily find the post you are looking for. You can filter posts based on Go to (date), Posted By, and Tagged Posts.
- Now, tap on the posts you’d like to hide from your timeline.
- Once you are done, tap on Next found at the top right corner of your screen.
- A window should pop up, on that window, tap on Hiding from your timeline.
