LG today announced the LG Velvet in its home market following a number of teasers and leaks. The Velvet is the first in a line of LG smartphones that will emphasize elegant design as revealed by the Korean firm earlier in April.
As reported earlier, the Velvet is a move from the premium Snapdragon-powered G series to the Snapdragon 765 chipset. On the flip side, the device comes fitted with a trio of cameras comprising of a 48 MP main shooter, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle snapper, and a 5 MP depth sensor for fancy background blur of the portrait shots. As for the selfie shooter, the Velvet has a 16 MP embedded inside a dewdrop notch.
The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 chipset with an integrated 5G modem, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage which is expandable via microSD. The LG Velvet will also include a solid 4,300mAh that supports fast charging and includes Qi wireless charging support, too.
