Much like the Redmi Note 9 Pro, the Redmi Note 9s is fitted with a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with a FullHD+ resolution of 2280×1080 pixels. The display is layered with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection down to the entire rear panel giving the entire body some ruggedness. It gets a square-shaped quad-camera setup complete with a LED flash. Clearly, the device has no rear fingerprint scanner nor does it has one fitted underneath the display, instead, it has its fingerprint sensor embedded into the side power button.
For photography, the device has a 48MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, coupled with an 8MP ultrawide unit with an f/2.2 aperture, a 5MP macro lens, and of course, a 2MP depth-sensing camera for better portraits. Upfront, there is a 16MP camera with f/2.5 aperture capable of 120fps slow-motion videos fitted into the small cut out.
Away from the camera specs, the Redmi Note 9s is powered by the recently released Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor and is available in either 4GB or 6GB of RAM with 64GB and 128GB, respectively. You can expand that via the microSD card slot. Inside the device, there is a 5,020 mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging support with compatible charger bundled inside the box, while it boots Android 10 with MIUI 11 out of the box.
