Oppo Watch officially launched in China with a familiar design

Oppo much-anticipated flagship and successor to the nearly 2-year-old Oppo Find X2 debuted in China earlier today. Dubbed the Oppo Find X2, and Find X2 Pro, Oppo’s latest offering came alongside the aptly named Oppo Watch. The Oppo Watch is the Chinese form first ever smartwatch, and much like the Xiaomi Watch, the Oppo Watch is Oppo’s take on the ever-popular Apple Watch, as it bears striking similarities.

Available in 41mm and 46mm, the Oppo Watch is an Android-powered(ColorOS) wearable powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 2500 chipset, coupled with a large 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. The wearable gets a curved glass and square-ish screen with a 4.5mm-thick aluminum frame. For the largest model with a 46mm square crown, there is a 1.91-inch display that offers a resolution of 473 x 402 resolution and 326 pixels per inch, while the 41mm model features a 1.6-inch, 360 x 320 screen.

Oppo says the Watch is water-resistant up to 50 meters, no SIM slot, but has eSIM-based cellular connectivity, while it does come with typical smartwatch features like fitness tracking, music playback, sleep, and heart rate monitoring, as well as, electrocardiogram (ECG) functionality.

Speaking of battery life, Oppo is touting the Oppo Watch as the best in the price segment. The larger model with 46mm  square face has a 430mAh, while the smaller 41mm one features a 300mAh unit which the firm boasts can last 40 hours of regular use and up to 21 days when you switch to power-saving mode. This mode will display notifications but turns off many of the smart features. It doesn’t end there, Oppo says charging the Oppo Watch up should be fast, with the company saying it can go from zero to 100% in 75 minutes, or from zero to 46% (apparently enough for a day of life) in just 15 minutes.
