It is official. The sequel to last year’s Mi 9 and the Chinese firm’s first flagship smartphone for the year 2020 – the Xiaomi Mi 10 series now has an official launch date. Yes, it is happening later in the month of February. Not surprised because the month is loaded with major smartphone launches Worldwide.
The Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has already started sending out a media invite for the Mi 10 launch event scheduled to happen in China on February 13. That is for the local launch in China, A global launch is tipped for February 23 in Barcelona, Spain just before the MWC 2020 kicks off properly.
Perhaps the most disappointing part of the local launch news is that the Xiaomi Mi 10 launch on China will be an online-only thing, which probably suggests a low key lanch, may be due to efforts to combat the Coronavirus outspread.
So what do we know about the Mi 10 so far? well, quite a lot has been rumored about the upcoming device. However, a freshly released promo poster reveals the device will feature a UFS 3.0 storage, while Samsung’s Display in its reaction to the Xiaomi Mi 10 launch date stated that;
“The industry needs a flagship conference, waiting for your wonderful debut. The screen has 10 strength, and you can’t live up to expectations! Ollie gives! ” That is a clear hint that suggests Samsung’s display is the sole supplier of the Mi 10 display.
The Mi 9 from the previous year has the SD 855 at its helm, so it is not difficult to conclude that the Xiaomi Mi 10 will come with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G platform, which will be paired with LPDDR5 memory.
