Moto G Stylus

Moto G Stylus and Moto G Power with Max Vision display launched

Last Updated on

Lenovo-owned Motorola as expected has updated its Moto G series smartphones with two new budget offerings. There is the stylus-packing Moto G Stylus and the Moto G Power with its monster battery, both of which will hit the retail shelves later in Q2.

While the Moto G Stylus is an entirely new addition, the firm has dropped the G8 numeric name scheme and has opted for the Moto G Power for the battery packed Moto G Power. That said, the Moto G Stylus and G Power complete the G8 series first launched back in 2019. The Moto G Stylus steps in for the Moto G7, while the Moto G Power steps in for the Moto G7 Power.

Moto G Power versus Moto G Stylus

The Moto G Power and Moto G Stylus share a lot in common. However, there are a few things that set them apart. The Moto G Power as the name suggests gets a massive battery with multi-day battery life, while the Moto G Stylus packs a removable stylus, although not quite as capable as the Stylus from Samsung, as it lacks the fancy Bluetooth linking or camera shutter buttons featured on the Note’s S Pen.

The Stylus totting Moto G comes with a 4,000mAh battery, while the G Power gets a massive 5000mAh battery which the firm claims can last up to 3 days on a single charge.

Aside from the aforementioned, both the G stylus and the G Power share a lot in common, and that include the same basic look, materials, design, and screens.

They both come fitted with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Max Vision displays with a single punch-hole for the selfie camera on the top left side. The display runs edge to edge with minimal or virtually no bezel, but with some manageable bezel below the display.

Both phones get the same shiny plastic external design which is home to the 3.5mm headphone jack and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. There also lies the triple rear-camera. Speaking of the dimensions, the Moto G Power is a bit thicker and heavier, and that is for a good reason – its monster 5,000mAh battery. These devices also come with a USB-C, Dolby-tuned stereo speaker, power key and volume toggle fitted into the right edge.

The Moto G Power and the G Stylus are both powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 SoC, each with either 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage expandable up to 512GB with microSD.
