TCL, the Chinese brand that makes Alcatel and Blackberry branded smartphones in some regions is finally coming off behind the scene, The brand has since been in the mobile industry, but a little known and it is now entering the mass market with it own branded TCL smartphones. Welcome the TCL 10 series. Under the new TCL 10 series, the Chinese brand is releasing the TCL 10 5G, the 10 Pro, and TCL 10L, and will all hit the retail shops in North America including the US, and Canada in Q2 of this year.
Sadly, the Chinese brand has yet to give full specs details of these devices, as it is reserving all that, and the official pricing for later in February at the MWC 2020 in Barcelona. This suggests the TCL 10 5G, the TCL 10 Pro, and TCL 10L will all be available in other markets, and not limited to the US, and Canada.
TCL 10 Pro Specs detail
That said, we do know that the 10 Pro is the most sophisticated of the trio, the 10L is a low-end device, and the TCL 10 5G which could come under the $500 price tag.
Starting off with the TCL 10 Pro, the new device gets a very slim profile compared to the Galaxy S10 from Samsung. The display curves slightly on both sides, and features AMOLED panel with a tiny punch-hole for the front camera. Also part of the package is an in-screen fingerprint sensor, four rear cameras, and — wonder of wonders — a 3.5mm headphone jack. We do not have the entire rear camera configuration, but we do know that the setup is highlighted by a 64MP main aided by two single-LED flash modules.
TCL 10 5G
Apparently the first 5G enabled smartphone with the TCL label, the TCL 10 5G is a bit inferior to the TCL 10 Pro. It gets virtually the same design as the TCL 10 Pro with a punch-hole display, a Quad-camera setup, but with a dual-LED flash module. The device gets a rear fingerprint scanner and is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 7-Series chipsets (presumably the Snapdragon 765G).
The TCL 10L is the most basic of the trio, but still with a similar design. It retains the Quad-camera highlighted by a 48MP camera on the rear, with the same punch-hole design on the front.
Speaking of the TCL 10 Pro, TCL 10L and TCL 10 5G, the brand has yet to release official pricing for markets, but it hinted that the 5G would be less than $500 and that there would be a significant price gap between the 10 Pro and the 10L.
Aside from the Alcatel branded phones, TCL also launched four Alcatel phones including the Alcatel 3L, Alcatel 1S, Alcatel 1V, and Alcatel 1B at the CES 2020.
