Whether or not Samsung’s next Galaxy s smartphone will be named the galaxy S11 or the Galaxy S20 is still any one’s guess. While we do know the device will launch in the first Q of 2020, speculation firmly suggests the device will be launched on February 11.
Samsung has yet to throw its weight behind that, however, a newly leaked promo video has indeed confirmed the said device will go official on February 11th at an Unpacked event, which will either take place in New York or San Francisco.
The video which emanated from Samsung’s Korea Vimeo account doesn’t expressly state the Galaxy S11/S20 will go official on the said date, but there is a hint that suggests so. As noted by Cnet, the video teaser reveals a black screen that splits down the middle and retreats to each side, revealing what looks like a canvas drop cloth printed with the letters “Glxy.” The spots where the two “a”s would begin moving beneath. The image turns and the two shapes emerge as white boxes.

Previous rumors suggest the unpacked event 2020 might take place on February 18, 2020. Whichever the right date is, both lineup with Samsung’s recent style of hosting its own blockbuster event before the yearly February MWC where it can build hype and keep its products in the limelight, away from competing brands. The MWC 2020 is scheduled to hold from Feb. 24 to 27.
