It isn’t yet known exactly when the next Poco phone will be officially announced, but the latest leaks and reports from India suggest a true Poco F1 successor is in the offing. The Poco F2 baring any change in tactics might be the brand’s next smartphone, and the true sequel to its only phone – the well-received Poco F1.
While there were reports of a Poco X2 days ago, a new finding by 91mobiles has revealed a listing for a new Poco device on the Bureau for Indian Standards (BIS) website. The BIS listing reveals a Poco phone with a familiar code name – M1912G7BI. The codename lines up with the Xiaomi Redmi K30 4G already on sale in China. The Chinese version has the M1912G7BC – where the letter C indicates is for the Chinese market.
Now, what can we make of the new listing by the Indian BIS? Well, indications are that the next Poco Smartphone, and perhaps, the true successor to the F1 might be a reb-branded Redmi K30. This suggests the K30 will be launching in India, and perhaps, other markets as the Poco F2, or the Poco X2 as the case may be.
Do note that we are not entirely sure if the F2 will indeed launch as a rebranded Redmi K30 4G, but that seems likely, given the new listing under the Poco umbrella. If and when the F2 is launched in India, we expect the device to come with the same specs and features as the K30, perhaps with a few or no changes. Itis expected to come with an upper mid-range Snapdragon 730G processor, 6GB to 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of expandable storage, and a 4,500mAh battery.
