While the revived Razr is widely expected to hit the retail shelve soon, a fresh render of a purported Motorola smartphone with the Stylus Pen popped out a few hours ago. That obviously suggests that the Motorola brand could be taking on Samsung’s Note series soon with a stylus supported phone. While Motorola has yet to confirm the leak, it appears the brand has more surprises for us in the year 2020, just as a new Motorola smartphone dubbed the Motorola Edge+ has surfaced on Geekbench.
This isn’t the first we have heard of the unannounced Motorola Edge plus. Tipster @evleaks (a leaker with a great track record) a few days revealed that the device could be Motorola’s first flagship for the year 2020, and might be exclusive to Verizon. Other than the name, the tipster also revealed that the said Motorola Edge plus could come with a punch-hole camera design.
Motorola Edge+ Geekbench listing
- 12GB RAM
- Android 10
- Punch hole camera design
- Unknown chipset with a base frequency of 1.80 GHz
Now, all thanks to the Geekbench listing, we now know the Motorola Edge+ will run Android 10 and have 12GB RAM onboard. The motherboard is listed as “burton” and the processor underneath has eight cores with a base frequency of 1.80 GHz. We are not sure which SoC the burton codename represents, so the exact brand of the SoC remains a mystery for now.
Motorola Edge+ expected launch date
So when exactly do we expect the Motorola Edge plus to go official?. Well, the brand has yet to confirm the existence or not of the device, so there isn’t any official word relating to its launch. However, reports have it that the brand will be hosting a press event on the evening on February 23 on the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress 2020, where it will possibly unveil the Edge plus. According to those with the invites, the Lenovo owned brand is simply telling them it will keep them on the “edge” of their seat, indicating the launch of Motorola Edge+.
