It looks like Chinese Phone maker Vivo will be foraying into the Foldable phone segment next year, at least that is what the firm’s MWC invite suggests.
First reported by Gsmarena, a copy of the invite attached below is not explicitly clear on what the firm intends to unveil at its MWC event, but the big “v” with a kinda hinge could mean a foldable Vivo smartphone might be in the offing. Although, it is also plausible the bug V is a stylized version of the “v” in “Vivo”, so we are not entirely certain what the MWC star product would be.
Speaking of the event, Vivo’S MWC event will hold on February 23rd at about 17hr CET at the Nautic Centre in Barcelona, Spain. The Chinese firm back at the 2018 MWC showed off its prototype Vivo Apex smartphone. The device never made it to market, but the similar Vivo Nex launched later in the year with similar specs and design.
During the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai 2019 Vivo unveiled several innovative products including the much talked about 120W fast charging technology.
Foldable and all-screen smartphones, as well as 5G capable devices, are the rage right now, so it expected that the Chinese brand will use its MWC 2020 event as the launchpad for either a foldable phone or a 5G capable one.
