An as of yet unidentified Sony Xperia smartphone has just popped up on Geekbench. The device has the K8220 codename, and there are indications it could be Sony Xperia mid-range offering.
This is the first time we come across the model number, and so not much is known about the device, but there are speculations it could be one of the Mid-range Sony Xperia phones we will see in the coming year. Given that the current crop of Xperia mid-range devices gets “J” in the model number, it is more or less certain the letter K could mean the next generation Sony mid-rangers will come in with J in the model number.
Speaking of the details, the benchmark site reveals that the Sony Xperia device with K8220 model number will come with 8GB of RAM, while it will boot Android 10 out of the box. The CPU details suggest the device and the upcoming Oppo Reno has a similar chipset, though we are not sure if the unknown Xperia device will be based on the SD765G or the standard SD765 variant.
We’ll keep you posted as more details about the Xperia phone pop up.
