Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is holding a press event on December 10 for the unveiling of the Redmi K30. The device has popped up several times both in official teasers, and unofficial leaks, the latest of which is a series of teasers posted on Weibo revealing the K30 in an alluring color.
Aside from revealing a new Purple, and Red color hue, all of the teaser posters go on to confirm one or two features of the upcoming device. First off, we can now confirm that the Redmi K30 has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, while it goes on to once again confirms that it will have 5G support on both SA and NSA networks.
Unlike the Redmi K20, the official Redmi K30 poster reveals a quad rear camera in a vertical layout with a decorative circular ring with a different surface finish than the rest of the rear panel. On the display front, the K30 will ditch the K20’s pop-up camera setup for a Samsung Galaxy S10+ like dual punch-hole selfie camera setup.
Speaking of the processing power, the Chinese brand has confirmed that the device will come with a Qualcomm chipset, perhaps, Qualcomm’s mid-tier Snapdragon 7 Series 5G mobile platform.
Aside from 5G capable Redmi K30, reports have it that a 4G variant could tag along, but with a striking semblance to the 5G variant, and will be limited to certain markets without 5G networks. Besides that, the Xiaomi offshoot is expected to show off a Redmi K30 Pro with more power.
