Update – Realme has just confirmed December 17 launch date for the Realme XT 730G, perhaps the Realme 5i could come along.

Chinese phone maker’s sub-brand  Realme earlier in November updated the Realme 5 series with the introduction of a new mid-level Realme 5s. The device which is basically a minor mid-life upgrade over the Realme 5 with essentially a better 48-megapixel quad-camera setup only went on sale in India via Flipkart recently, and now news about the imminent launch of a new Realme 5 smartphone has surfaced on the web.

Realme has yet to confirm the info, but a new Realme phone bearing model number RMX2030 has bagged certifications from Wi-Fi Alliance and Indonesia’s TKDN. It has also cleared India BIS, as well as Thailand’s NBTC all hinting at an imminent release. Interestingly, the device is labelled by Thailand’s NBTC as the Realme 5i, but doesn’t reveal any specs details.

If and when the Realme 5i becomes official, the Realme would have succeeded in flooding the Realme 5 series with the vanilla Realme 5, 5 Pro, 5s, and now the Realme 5i. We are not sure what improvements the device will bring to the table, but all that should become clear in the coming days.

While we can not say when the device will go official, there are speculations it could be launched alongside the XT 730G (aka X2) and Realme’s truly wireless earphones in India.
