Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has just launched the Oppo A8, and Oppo A91 smartphone in China. The launch follows a few leaks, and are now available for reservations on the official OPPOShop.cn and other retailer sites in China. Oppo says both new entrants will go on sale later this month -December 26th in China. We are not sure when both devices will make it outside of Chiba, but they certainly will sell in India in the coming weeks.
Available in Dark Blue, Red and Gradient colors and priced at CNY 1,999 ($285), the Oppo A91 gets a large 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 20:9 aspect ratio. It gets a small water-drop notch for a front camera, while it also comes fitted with an in-display fingerprint reader.
For the photo freaks, the Oppo A91 features a quad rear camera setup comprising of a 48MP primary shooter, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with 119-degree field-of-view, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Upfront, the device gets a tiny water-drop notch for a 16-megapixel, while it boots ColorOS 6.1 based Android 9 Pie out of the box.
Worth noting is that the Oppo A91 packs a 4,000 mAh with support for 30W VOOC 3.0 fast charging, while it is powered by MediaTek Helio P70 with 8GB RAM, and 128GB of storage.
The Oppo A8 is light and soft on specs, and of course, it comes with a cheaper price tag. First off, it gets larger 6.5-inch HD+ IPS panel with the same 20:9 aspect ratio as the A91, but gets an 8MP selfie cam housed in the waterdrop notch. Also, the Oppo A8 gets features a triple camera design triple camera setup with a 12MP main and two 2MP shooters
The device drops the Helio P70 for the Helio P35 with 4GB RAM and 128GB of expandable storage brings a 4,230 mAh but sadly there’s no fast charging, while it boots ColorOS 6.1 on top Android 9 Pie out of the box.
