It’s only a few days left until the final unveiling of the Redmi K30 series, and unsurprisingly, details about the upcoming device are still creeping in.
Xiaomi’s Co-Founder and Vice-Chairman Lin Bin took to the stage at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit 2019 to reveal a few salient details about the Redmi K30, and the company’s upcoming flagship Xiaomi Mi 10.
About the K30, Lin Bin revealed that the device Redmi K30 will be the first 5G smartphone from the stable of Xiaomi that will be powered by the Snapdragon 765G 5G Mobile Platform. Though there are reports that there will be a 4G version that will likely be powered by Snapdragon 765, more details about that should be in the open in the coming days.
Speaking of the Snapdragon 765G SoC, the chipset was made official today alongside the SD 865 SoC at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit 2019. It offers 5G connectivity much like SD 865, but while the flagship 865 SoC needs to be bundled with Snapdragon X55 5G modem, SD765 has an integrated Snapdragon X52 modem. The X52 supports SA / NSA dual-modem 5G and offers download speeds of up to 3.7Gbps.
Xiaomi Mi 10
Asides the Redmi K30, the company’s executive also again confirmed the existence of the Xiaomi Mi 10 – the sequel to this year’s Mi 9 series. As per his words, the device will arrive in early 2020, but with no specific date yet. His words – the Xiaomi Mi 10 will be one of the first to feature the new Snapdragon 865 SoC and will be coming “very soon.”
The top executive, however, refrained from revealing key details about the Mi 10, as the focus was on the flagship SoC. With the confirmation and an expected arrival date of early 2020, we should begin to see some details about the said Mi 10 in the coming weeks.
The 5G era opens up new opportunities and challenges. It brings great innovations and redefines how users interact with devices, audio, and video applications.
