Huawei Matepad Pro

Huawei Matepad Pro with 10.8-inch punch-hole display, Kirin 990, huge battery with 15W wireless charging is official

Not even the trade sanction from the Commerce department can deter Huawei. The Chinese firm has been on a launching spree since the ban came into effect and shows no sign of backing down soon. While the Huawei Mate 30 competes with the very best of Android smartphones, and the latest Apple iPhone, the Chinese firm today at a launch event in China unveiled its first true Apple iPad Pro rival – the Huawei Matepad Pro as promised.

The Huawei Matepad Pro is undisputedly the most advanced tablet smartphone ever in the Android ecosystem and the first to feature a punch-hole display. The device is full of power, but sadly lacks one thing – the Google Mobile Services suite.

Huawei MatePad Pro Specifications and Features

The device gets a Quad-speaker setup, a single camera on the flip side, while the punch-hole design is home to a single front camera.

It tips the scales at 460 grams and measures 159 x 245 x 7.2mm, while it comes fitted with a 10.8-inch AMOLED panel with a 2560×1600 pixel resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. Huawei claims the STBR stands at 90%, all thanks to a very narrow bezel that measures only  4.9mm. It supports M-Pencil stylus with a 4096-level pressure sensitivity nib. The stylus can be charged wirelessly by simply attaching to the device.

Humming inside the Matepad Pro is Huawei’s Kirin 990 SoC paired with 6/8GB RAM and 128/256GB storage. The tablet will come in Wi-Fi only and LTE versions. The device is a 4G device, though a 5G capable variant will be out in early 2020, says Huawei.

Best Pick:  Nubia Z20 is TENAA certified

The camera details include a 13-megapixel main camera with f/1.8 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash. And within the punch-hole is an 8MP selfie cam. Other juicy details include a 7,250mAh with 40W Huawei SuperCharge, 15W wireless charging, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.
