At the October launch of the Redmi 8 in China, Xiaomi’s GM Lu Weibing had confirmed that a new and fresh flagship killer dubbed Redmi K30 was already in development, although it kept the basic features under the wrap. While it was initially thought to arrive early in 2020, the brand a few days ago made it clear we would be seeing the device later in December 2019.
Now, while we have yet to get official details regarding its launch, details about the device are beginning to pout in. First off, the device with the M2001G7AE model alleged to be the Redmi K30 has now popped up on China’s 3C certification database with a 30W fast charger in the box. The listing also confirms it is a “5G Digital Mobile Phone”, confirming the support for next-gen cellular networks.
Redmi K30 details
Besides the 3C listing, a live image of the Redmi K30 is currently making the round on the internet. Although the device is encased in a pre-production case, it isn’t hard to conclude it is the Redmi K30. First off, the design lineup with previously leaked renders which reveals a dual punch hone design.
There is also the About Phone section within MIUI 11, which mentions the device name to be Redmi K30, while the other section reveals details about the device’s display. It confirms it has a display with120Hz refresh rate capabilities and goes on to mention the Adreno 618 GPU. The mention of Adreno 618 is clear evidence the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 and Snapdragon 730G SoC. And if we are to take cues from the Redmi K20 series, then it is safe to safe the K30 will be accompanied by a Redmi30 Pro, perhaps with a more capable SoC.
