Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi looks set to updating its Mi CC9 series with a new variant later this month. Fresh tips from China suggest that the firm has a launch event scheduled for October 24th in China for the fresh device. Dubbed the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro, the tipster alegged that the device might come with a 108MP camera sensor, while it will be fueled by the SD 730G SoC.
Other details are sketchy, though we expect the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro to get a similar design with the CC9. Recall that tipster Ice Universe a few days back alleged that a new Xiaomi phone – precisely the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 with the 108MP sensor could be launching soon. That rumor was, however, swiftly refuted by Xiaomi who confirmed to us that it has no intention of launching another Mi Mix phone this year.
Now, it is plausible the popular tipster got the info wrong, and the said 108MP camera phone might very much be the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro. Do note also that the new of the Mi CC9 Pro has yet to be largely confirmed, so our claim is purely based on assumption.
If indeed the device will debut later this month, Xiaomi should be teasing more about it in the coming weeks so stay tuned.
