Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing yesterday confirmed the imminent launch of a Special edition Redmi K20 Pro – the Redmi K20 Pro Exclusive Edition. According to the Xiaomi sub-brand, the device in question will drop the Snapdragon 855 processor for the Snapdragon 855 Plus which features a slightly-overclocked CPU and a GPU with a 15% performance boost.
Now, with a few hours before the release, the brand in a Weibo post earlier today further revealed more details about the Snapdragon 855 Plus. As per the latest reveal, the device will feature 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage. This is relative to the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage in the standard version. The device like we mentioned will feature the SD 855+, but we are not certain it will come with 5G support. The brand’s first 5G enabled phone is likely to arrive much later in 2020 as hinted earlier this year.
Besides the bump in RAM, storage, and improved SoC, the Redmi K20 Pro Exclusive Edition might likely share other specs with the standard variant. The device flaunts a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 91.9% screen-to-body ratio, boots Android Pie with MIUI 10 on top, gets a 48-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX586 sensor, 8-megapixel telephoto lens for 2x lossless zoom and a 124.8° ultra-wide sensor. There is also a 20-megapixel pop-up front camera, seventh-generation optical in-display fingerprint sensor 3D curved glass back design and a 4000mAh battery with support for 27W fast charging.
