There have been wild speculations that Xiaomi is close to officially dropping the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G and Mix 4 5G as both devices have consistently appeared in a number of leaks and rumors. The launch rumors even became so intense when the brand inadvertently shared a promotional page of the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G and Mi Mix 4 which indicate that the launching date is near.
Cementing the various leaks and rumors, the brand has today officially confirmed that it has a launch event scheduled for September 24th in Beijing, China. Interestingly, it confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G, as well as the Xiaomi Mix 4 5G, will be highlights of the show. Both devices are two of Xiaomi’s most anticipated products for the year, as they are expected to bring the recently announced 30W Mi Charge Turbo Wireless fast charging tech, and a new 108MP camera sensor onboard.
Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G Rumored Specs
From what we have heard so far, Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G will sport a 6.39-inch display with the Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC under its hood. It is expected to come with up to 12GB RAM and a max of 512GB internal storage along with a 4,000mAh battery.
It features a triple camera arrays – a 48MP, f/1.8 (wide) + 12MP, f/2.2 (telephoto) +16MP, f/2.2 (ultrawide) and a single 20MP, f/2.0 aperture selfie shooter. Furthermore, the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G will boot Android 9 Pie-based on, perhaps the MIUI 11 out of the box.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 Rumored Specs
The Mi Mix 4, on the other hand, is expected to highlight the newly launched 108MP main camera. And while that is in itself a novelty, reports have it that it will feature a 2K display with “Waterfall” display and 90Hz refresh rate which is fast becoming a norm in any flagship 2019 smartphone. The device will, of course, be powered by the Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC with up to 12GB RAM and up to 1TB internal storage.
Aside from the aforementioned devices, Xiaomi also announced today that the MIUI 11 and their new generation’s Mi TV will officially debut on the said date. We look out for more official teasers and confirmation in the days leading up to the September 24th event in China.
