VIVO Nex 3 could come with a fully customizable Camera UI, latest teaser suggests

Chinese smartphone maker VIVO has released a fresh teaser of its upcoming smartphone the VIVO NEX 3. In a Weibo post released earlier today, the company’s product manager boasted of the NEX 3’s default camera app, suggesting that the device will not only get a design overhaul but also in the internal makeup.

To be clear, the Manager in the post hinted that the VIVO Nex 3 will come with a fully customizable refreshed camera UI. It suggests you can choose which functions and icons to show up on the viewfinder. Or re-arrange the shooting modes depending on how you use your camera. From the screenshots, it is also plausible the UI will come with a number of modes to choose from.

VIVO hasn’t revealed many details of the upcoming device just yet other than having a screen that almost wraps around the sides of the phone similar to OPPO Waterfall screen. However, the device alongside its 5G variant has gone through the pace of TENAA where we go to know some of its key details.

And judging by the TENAA’s listing, the VIVO NEX 3 and VIVO NEX 3 5G will offer similar specs and designs. The 5G variant is likely to pack with the latest Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, paired with X50 modem for the blazing 5G connectivity. It will come in 12GB RAM and 512GB storage option, while the standard NEX 3 will get the same SD 855+ at its heart but devoid of the 5G modem, and could be available in 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, and 256GB options. All storage variants got no room for expansion.

VIVO NEX 3 TENAA

As per TENAA listing, the Nex 3 will come with a footprint of 167.4 x 76.1 x 9.4 mm, and weighs as much as 218 grams. Upfront, you will see a Nex 3 with a 6.89-inch display with 2256 x 1080 pixels resolution and 99.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. It curves around all corners and is said to house no physical button. On the reverse side, the Nex 3 has a circular camera module which is home to triple camera setup. The main camera a 64MP lens, and that will be aided by a two 13 MP snappers, suspected to be a telephoto lens and an ultra-wide-angle camera. There is no fingerprint scanner on sight, and that is because the firm has opted for an under-display scanner.

Elevating camera

Much like the upcoming VIVO VI7 Pro, the Nex 3 has an elevating camera module upfront, but unlike the V17 Pro, the Nex 3 gets a single 16 MP front shooter. It is, however, plausible it could come with a 3D face recognition technology or ToF sensor given that the pop-up module is large enough to house more than just a single shooter.

The VIVO NEX 3 launches on September 16th in China where the full details including pricing and roll-out plans will be unveiled.
