News about a fresh Xiaomi smartphone with 5G connectivity and a 45W fast charging has been doing the round recently. The device with the M1908F1XE model number recently was certified in China by the Chinese CCC hinting at an imminent launch.
Up until now, we know little or nothing else about the device, though rumors were rift that the device in question could be the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4. Now, reports from China suggest the said device could be a refresh of the Xiaomi Mi 9 launched earlier this year.
Xiaomi tipster Xiaomishka citing unconfirmed sources reveals that the device in fact launch as the Xiaomi Mi 9 5G. The Chinese phone maker had at the last MWC in Barcelona launched a Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 with 5G network support. And while that model is just a mere 5G variant of the standard Mi Mix 3, the tipster suggests the Mi 9 5G variant could in fact go beyond just slapping a 5G modem on the Mi 9.

My chinese colleague said that new Xiaomi Mi 9 5G (model M1908F1XE) should have some new features:
1) screen becomes bigger 2k
2) main shot for new plus OIS
3) battery increase

To put it in context, the Mi9 5G beyond the 5G modem will come with upgraded internals. Prominent among the expected upgrade is a bump in the screen size with a 2K / QHD resolution. We are not sure if the whole camera unit will be completely revamped, though the leak says the main shooter will get OIS support.
Furthermore, the Mi 9 5G will come with upgraded battery capacity, up from 3,300mAh to, perhaps, a 4000mAh battery with 45W fast charge support. Other possible upgrades could include a change in the SoC from the SD 855 to the plus variant.
