Chinese smartphone maker OPPO earlier this year released two new devices under the Reno series — the Reno Standard Edition and the Reno 10x Zoom Edition, while it recently entered the 5G race with the OPPO Reno 5G variant. The Renoseries with its “10x” periscope zoom camera at the moment holds sway for the firm while its under-display camera tech becomes a reality.
Now, a fresh report from out of India says the Chinese brand will be releasing a third model under the Reno series to India by the end of this month. The report didn’t provide many details about the said Reno phone, however, the device will first make its debut in India before heading to other countries. In India, the said phone will start at INR35,000 ($500/€450), though a separate report says it could start at about INR40,000 ($575/€515), while the official launch is tipped for around the Diwali festival which is in late October.
OPPO’s Hyderabad R&D center
We still do not know a lot about the device – including design, and specs, however, speculations are rift that the company’s Hyderabad R&D center will be in charge of its design. The same Hyderabad R&D reportedly developed the VOOC 3.0 fast charging tech that is featured in the Renoseries as well as phones like the Realme 3 Pro and Realme X.
We expect to get some official confirmation in the form of teasers from the company in the coming weeks.
