Chinese Phone maker OPPO is gearing up for a launch event in India on August 28. At the said event, the firm has confirmed it will launch a new OPPO phone bearing its advanced camera tech- 20x zoom. While the OPPO Reno 2 has been the only device tipped to arrive at the event, a new report has emerged suggesting that there are more variants of the OPPO Reno 2 in the offing.
According to the report by Mysmartprice, the OPPO Reno 2 will be joined by the OPPO Reno 2Z and Reno ZF, all with Quad-camera setups. The publication also released some specs and features of the upcoming devices, but we are yet to be treated to official renders.
OPPO hasn’t revealed the specs and features of the standard OPPO Reno 2 series, but the publication already got hold of the specs of the upcoming Reno 2, OPPO 2Z and OPPO ZF.
The standard OPPO Reno 2 is said to come flaunting a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with full HD+ resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. It boasts of a whopping 93.1 percent STBR and is coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection on the front, and Gorilla glass5 on the flipside to prevent damage from accidental fall. The OPPO Reno 2 will reportedly ship with the Snapdragon 730G processor along with 8 GB of RAM.
The Oppo Reno 2 is rumored to come with OPPO’s Waterfall Screen which will make it miles apart from the original Oppo Reno, however, this is just mere rumor as we can not currently confirm such to you.
Still, on the standard Reno 2, the report says the device will come fitted with a Quad-camera setup one of which is a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary lens with f/1.7 aperture. It will be joined by a 116-degree ultrawide angle 8-megapixel lens, a 13-megapixel sensor with support for 20x optical zoom and a depth sensor of 2-megapixel with special portrait modes. The report also mentions that the device will retain the elevating Shark fin with a 16-megapixel, while it will be powered by a 4000mAh battery that supports VOOC 3.0 flash charging.

The OPPO Reno 2Z, on the other hand, gets the same full HD+ 6.53-inch AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass protection as well as In-display fingerprint scanner. While the Standard Reno2 get the SD 730G Soc, the Reno 2Z is said to feature MediaTek Helio P90 with up to 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. The selfie and rear camera setup remain the same – a 16MP front cam, and a Quad-camera arrangement with Sony IMX586 48-megapixel primary lens + a 119-degree ultrawide 8-megapixel lens coupled with a pair of 2-megapixel lenses that enables special portrait mode while snapping photos and videos. It is expected to come packed with the same 4,000mah battery with VOOC 3.0 flash charging support.

OPPO Reno 2F
Completing the OPPO Reno 2 series is the OPPO Reno 2F. It is expected to launch as the most basic variant of the Reno series, and while we do not have any details yet, the report says it will ditch Sony IMX586 48-megapixel for a Samsung made ISOCELL Bright GM1 48-megapixel lens.
The entire Reno 2 series will boot Android 9 Pie OS along with ColorOS 6.1 out of the box and are tipped to get updated to Android Q when available.
