Chinese smartphone maker OPP is already on the verge of launching the OPPO Reno 2 mere months after the arrival of the original OPPO RENO. We already know via official teasers that the brand this time will still place emphasis on the device’s cameras boasting of an insane “20x” zoom, plus an “Ultra Steady Mode” for stabilized video and an “Ultra Dark Mode” for extreme low-light camera performance.
And while we do not have any concrete proof backing this up, reports have it that the Reno 2 will launch in three variants – the OPPO Reno 2, OPPO Reno 2F, and Reno 2F.
Whatever the case is, the brand has said the device will launch on August 28, first in India before heading to China and other countries. Now, with just a few days left until the launch, two unannounced OPPO smartphones have appeared on both China’s TENAA and 3C for the needed approval.
The devices with the PCKM00 and PCKT00 model numbers are said to be variants of the upcoming OPPO Reno 2. Both devices are virtually the same device, though the variant with PCKM00 model number has much larger storage – 256GB.
The alleged OPPO Reno 2 as per the listing has a 6.5-inch AMOLED FHD+ screen and a 16 MP selfie camera housed in the quirky shark fin pop-up mechanism. And on the flip side, the device gets a Quad-camera setup similar to the recently unveiled Realme 5 series. The setup comprises of a 48MP F/1.7 main shooter, 13MP telephoto, 8MP ultrawide and 2MP depth sensor.
OPPO Reno 2 Specs
Previous reports say the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 730G SoC, and the listing at this moment hasn’t expressly confirmed that. Although it does indicate the SoC has an octa-core CPU running at 2.2 GHz and is mated with 8GB RAM and 128/256GB of expandable storage. A 4,000 mAh, ColorOS 6 on top of Android 9 Pie round off the TENAA specs list.
