Vivo’s sub-brand IQOO has announced a time window for the launch of its first 5G enabled phone. The firm in a teaser debunked rumors that suggest its 5G phone will launch as the IQOO 5G Plus, while also confirming the device will be announced as the IQOO Pro 5G.
The IQOO Pro 5G as per the lastest teaser arrives later in August. A specific date has yet to be announced though. The brand has also not divulged much of what the device will bring to the table, although images accompanying the teaser suggests it could feature a design similar to the original iQOO launched back in March. Zooming the image also reveals the device has a triple camera fitted on the backside.
It is likely the IQOO Pro 5G will retain most of the standard IQOO internal makeup, but we suspect the device might drop the standard SD 855 for the Snapdragon 855+ SoC. There are speculations too that the device might feature a 4500mAh battery with VIVO’s 120W fast charging support. The fast charging tech which was announced earlier in June can juice up a 4000mAh battery to full capacity in just 13 minutes.
It is not entirely clear if this is the only device the brand has in the making. The IQOO Plus is said to be in the making, but we are unsure if it is a different device entirely from the IQOO Pro 5G.
We expect more details to surface in the coming days.
