The Android tablet market has generally been on a steady decline, but that isn’t affecting Samsung’s Android tablet lineup, as shipments from that line remain strong. Samsung remains quite innovative, and that perhaps explains while it still manages to ship out more tablets. Samsung has today added an attractive and premium tablet to its portfolio – the Galaxy Tab S6.
The Galaxy Tab S6 is a high-end Android tablet that’s designed for both productivity work and entertainment needs. It is aimed squarely at the iPad Pro and Surface Pro from Microsoft as it packs some great features that set it apart from other Android tablets. Design for those always on the move, the Galaxy Tab S6 is portable, thin, light, and packs some powerful guts and helpful multitasking software.
Much like the Tab S4, the Tab S6 features a 16:10 10.5-inch OLED screen (2560 x 1600 pixel resolution), but with ultra-thin bezels and smaller footprint. Samsung has dropped the facial recognition login system for an in-screen optical fingerprint scanner.
It is just about 5.3mm thick, 420 grams and still manages to pack a 7,040mAh battery that can last for up to 15hrs, as per an official statement. The device is better optimized for improved performance, all thanks to the Snapdragon 855 processor which delivers up to 80% CPU boost and more than a 60% graphics boost over the
The Galaxy Tab S6 comes fitted with a triple camera – an 8MP front camera, as well as a dual camera on the flip side. It comprises of a 13MP primary sensor with a secondary sensor with an ultra-wide 123-degree field of view. The rear is home to a magnetic strip that lets you attach the included S Pen stylus to the tablet. And speaking of the S Pen, Samsung has now made it more productive from a note-taking pen. The S pen now functions as a kind of BlueTooth remote for advancing slide presentations and snapping videos and taking selfies. Interestingly, the pen charges wirelessly when docked in just 10minutes.
Lastly, the Tab S6 comes integrated with Samsung’s DeX which combined with the Book Cover Keyboard can turn into a PC for better productivity and multi-tasking.
