Xiaomi has just slated a launch event on May 25th in China where it is expected to unveil a fresh smartphone . According to official press teaser from Xiaomi , the device expected to debut on May 25th is the Xiaomi Mi MAX 2, the successor to the Mi Max that was announced back in 2016.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 launch event which will exactly hold at 2 pm on May 25th according to official source will be attended by Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun . Other top Chinese company execs, including Ma Dong, Luo Zhenyu,@ Chen Rui, and Ge Ke. Chinese based girls band Shanghai 48, best known as SNH48 will also be in attendance .
Though the launch teaser didn’t point to what we should expect of the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 in terms of specs , the device is expected to retain some basic specs of the Mi Max 1 , while others will be improved upon .
Previous rumors hinted that the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will retain the 6.44-inch display with 1080p resolution of its predecessor , but will boot the latest Android flavor with MIUI 8 out of the box .
There has been conflicting rumors as to what Soc and amount of RAM the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will be using. While one hinted that the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will come with a Snapdragon 660 chip backed by 6GB of RAM with 4GB RAM option , other source indicated the Xiaomi Max 2 will feature a Snapdragon 626 processor for the 4GB RAM version while the SD 660 chip would be for the higher 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is expected to come with a higher 5000mAh battery , while photographic functions will be handled by a 12MP rear Sony IMX378 sensor and a 5MP sensor up front.
As for pricing details , the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is rumored to edge at 1999 Yuan .
