Software giant -Google has finally announced the official name of its newest version of Android, Google’s mobile operating system to be Android 8.0 Oreo . The updated software, which has been available for the last few months in developer beta will immediately be pushed to Android Open Source Project (AOSP) for everyone to access while supported Nexus and Pixel devices will promptly get the update as soon as possible .
Smartphones from Essential, General Mobile, HMD Global, Huawei, HTC, Kyocera, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sharp, and Sony will probably ship with Android Oreo or be upgraded to Android Oreo by Year end .
A major highlight of the Android Oreo is improved battery life for the hardware running it. For example, Google will limit what apps can do after they’re launched on your phone but not actively in use. For example, now apps won’t be able to do as much with location updates while they’re running in the background — which can normally be a big battery suck.
Furthermore , the Android Oroe brings with it picture-in-picture support, notification dots, fully redesigned emoji (including over 60 new ones), Google Play Protect built-in, faster boot speeds, autofill system-wide, and support for Android Instant Apps.
